Training

 Here at Novacek Colt Co we believe the foundation of your horses training is the most crucial element of their life. It is important to us that horses are not just “forced to accept” but that they are truly taught to learn, and learn to try. This builds the horses confidence to excel in any discipline.  Lakota has developed an excellent program that produces well rounded horses that are soft, willing, responsive, and happy to do their jobs.  

Foundations, skills, maneuvers, trust and confidence are established in the arena through my proven program. Once a foundation has been laid horses are graduated to solidifying those skills while out in real life. 

 Show horse or ranch horse alike, all of our horses in training get lots of outdoor real life exposure. Based out of the Pawnee Springs ranch, Lakota and Karson are able to use colts in their day to day operations doing all elements of ranch work, and putting on solid miles in the Nebraska Sandhills. This is an incredible benefit to your horses mindset, and physical conditioning. 

Every horse in our training program is constantly being evaluated to ensure their health and safety during their training. We strive to provide the best care for your horse as possible while they stay with us. As a part of that care, all of our training horses are strongly encouraged to have a session with Terri Alworth of "Allworrth it. Terri specializes in whole body alignment, adjusting, stretching, and massage to eliminate soreness, and increase range of motion.  We have seen incredible results with the horses that have seen her. We pride ourselves on the glow ups of colts that are in training.  Your horses physical condition is one of  our highest concerns. We have an excellent feed program consisting of tested 3rd or 4th cutting alfalfa, free choice loose salt and vitalize mineral, and Bluebonnets intensify feed line.
